Users for your Bolt app
Updated October 2026
Bolt got your app live. Getting it used is a different job. The good news: the app being new and AI-built doesn't matter to users. Whether it solves their problem in the first minute does.
Before anyone promotes it
Every visitor a marketer sends is wasted if the app leaks them. Spend an hour on this first:
- A real domain. A default subdomain reads like a demo. People share links they trust.
- A preview card. Set a title, description and share image so links look right in DMs, X and Slack.
- One clear first screen. What it does, who it's for, one button. Test it on your phone.
- Sign-up that works first time. Try it in a private window with a fresh email. Check the confirmation email actually arrives.
- Know where people came from. Give each channel its own
?ref=link and count signups per link.
Bolt-specific things to check
- Put it on your own domain rather than the default deploy address, so links look trustworthy.
- Check it still works after a redeploy. Environment variables and API keys are the usual thing to break between preview and production.
- Add basic analytics before launch, so the first wave of visitors isn't a mystery.
Pick one channel to start
- Visual, consumer, “wow” in five seconds: TikTok and Reels. Short videos of the app doing its thing.
- Solves a specific, painful problem: Reddit and niche communities, where that problem is already discussed.
- For a job or a team: cold outreach to a hand-picked list, or LinkedIn.
- Has an obvious audience with a few voices: small creators in that niche.
- People search for the problem: SEO pages, slow but they compound.
The first users almost always come from one place. Do that one properly before adding a second.
Hand off the part you hate
Bolt made the building fast. Distribution doesn't need your codebase, it needs taste and persistence, so it's very delegable. Scope it so you can check it was done: a count, a format, a place and a deadline. “3 TikToks posted within 7 days” is checkable. “Go viral” isn't. Avoid anyone guaranteeing views or signups; guaranteed numbers usually mean bought engagement.
The short version
Shoutyard is the distribution marketplace for vibe coders. Post your app in about a minute, get up to five fixed-price offers from real people who like this work, and your payment is held until you approve it.
